Creating a Template Guide Print Page

Uses, Tips & Steps for Creating Successful Templates

Create Templates to:

Create a consistent look & feel amongst similar guides.

Ensure that all guides have similar elements. For example, every guide has a Help Tab/Page.

Organize guides in a consistent manner, easier for users to navigate.

Ensures that your Site Admin will spend less time editing guides. Equals time-saving!

Tips for Creating Templates:

Create Pages/Tabs with titles -> Gives Guide Authors direction when adding content.


Add Linked Elements such as a Catalog Search box or Help page. 

Create Boxes without content -> Placeholders for Guide Authors to add content.

Template Title & Description should convey the Template's purpose to Guide Authors.


Create Templates,

Inform Guide Authors,

Guide Authors should resuse appropriate template when creating a new guide.
