Customize font/text styles

The default font is, for the most part, Arial. To change your site's default font/text styles across the board

Web Safe Fonts

body, div, p, table, tr, th, td, span, h1, h2, h3, h4, ul, li, a { font-family:Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, Sans-Serif !important; }


Customizing Link Colors

Dartmouth College LibAnswers admins did a great job customizing their system. For example, notice how they have custom color for links and visited links. Making your own custom link color is simple.

  1. Go to the dashboard and select Admin Stuff > Look & Feel 
  2. In the Custom JS/CSS Code section insert the following snippet:

    <style type="text/css" media="screen">
    a:link, a:visited {color: #YOURHEXCODE;}
    .dropmenudiv a:hover {color: #fefefe; background-color:#YOURHEXCODE;}

Background color

How about changing the page background color (outside the content pane)? Easy!

body { background-color: #XXXXXX; }


Custom Favicon

Want to have a custom browser favicon, like Dartmouth?

Here are the steps:

  1. Place a favicon on a publicly-accessible webserver (for example, Dartmouth placed theirs at
  2. Add this line to the Admin Stuff > Look & Feel > Custom JS/CSS Code box, replacing YOUR ICON URL with the URL for your image: 

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="YOUR ICON URL" />
