"How to" Help

If you have a "how to" question:

Updating Your Links

You imported your databases, you added other content to your guide & arranged it how you want it...now what?

Periodically run the import tool to update your list

Things change - you get new resources, you lose some resources, you update descriptions, and sometimes resources change their URLs.

Just re-run the import tool to:

  • import new links, and
  • update links previously imported into your guide.

The import tool will "respect" the format you have in place. It will add/update the links however you have it organized, as long as it finds the appropriate box names in your system. (See the More Info page for more on how the tool works.)

question mark Is re-running the import tool different from running it the first time?

Not really, no. You follow the same basic steps. The only thing you don't have to worry about is adding the Guide ID.

  1. Just click on A-Z Resource List Management at the bottom of your My Admin screen.
  2. Enter your Serials Solutions client identifier and click Launch.
  3. The database screen will appear. Any databases that have changed will be checked off. You can manually check off others.
  4. Click Import Selected Links.
  5. Close the screen listing the imported databases.
  6. Click on the guide name to check out your changes/updates.
