Let's Get Custom!!

Customizations can impact your site at different levels - thus is the beauty of CampusGuides!

Site Wide Customizations impact your entire CampusGuides site

Add these changes to your System-Wide Settings

Group-Level Customizations impact the guides associated with a specific "group" of guides

Head to Customizing Groups for more info!

Guide-Level Customizations impact all the pages in a single guide in your system

For this type of change, add your code to Look and Feel Settings --> Custom JS/CSS Code in any guide!

Want to experiment?

Setting up a sandbox group in your CampusGuides site is easy! Here's how:

Go to System Settings Group Management

Create a new group.

The page will reload - click the  icon next to your new group.

There are some options you'll want to change right away:

  • Choose Do not display this group on the system homepage, browse or search pages.
  • Uncheck the 3 boxes that begin with Include the system-level... - if these are checked, you'll carry over the existing look & feel of your site.

Now for the fun part!

  • To change tab colors and shapes, check out our guide on creating custom tabs
  • We've also got some tips & tricks for changing your boxes' color and shape here.

I've added my customizations - now what do I do?

  • Take a look at your group home page - go back to the group list & click the name of your group.
  • Create a new guide and add it to your sandbox group. We recommend changing the guide status to private - this is a sandbox, after all!
