What is a Predefined Entry?
Predefined entries allow you to set up predefined questions / answers in your system, making it easier for everyone to add data to your dataset!
For example, in your Circulation Stats dataset, you may get the question "Where is the bathroom" about 500 times / day. Who wants to type that in / choose standard responses every time you go to add it to your dataset?? No one! That's who.
So, reduce those barriers to data entry. :)
Add predefined questions and select certain default answers. Then all your staff has to do is choose that answer, fill out the rest of the answers / change anything that differs from the standard answer, and click Submit!
Note: Only Admin level users can create predefined entries, though everyone can use them.
Creating a Predefined Entry
- Go to the Add Record(s) screen and choose a dataset.
- Click the "circular arrows" icon next to the top text entry.
(Usually named something like Question or Course.)
- Choose ---- Add a new predefined entry.
- Read the instructions in the dialog box and click OK.
- Add the text / choose the fields you want, then click Add to Pre-Defined entries at the bottom.
When the page reloads, you can click on the circular arrows icon again, click on the dropdown menu, and see your question in the list. Choose it to see your predefined options selected. :)

Modifying / Deleting Predefined Entries
Modifying: Currently, this is not possible.
Deleting: Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know the Dataset ID and the entries you'd like to delete.
